With all the different solutions there are three things you need to ask if you are a Managed Service Provider.
1. Do they work?
It seems like a funny question, but is it really funny? With the large number of infections leading to data loss, definitely don't wait until your client has some cryptolocker type virus to find out that they can't restore their critical data. Further, if you are only backing up to a local networked device, the chances of that device becoming infected with a crypto virus is very likely. Any good backup solution needs to going off-site, securely, and you should be able to test your backups with a solid restore to prove they are working.
If you are having troubles doing this with your current offsite backup solution you need to make a change. Don't wait until you are in the news for losing a client's data and they have to pay a $17,000 ransom! That kind of news could destroy a business!!
