"Don't talk to strangers and don't take candy from people you don't know!"
That's what we tell our kids to keep them safe. We teach them to only take rides from people they know. Don't get in the car, even if the person in the car says they know your mom or dad by name. It doesn't matter if they say your mom's name and that she is in the hospital! Tell the person, that you don't know, that you are going to call an adult you trust.
It's a simple thought. Verify before you trust someone.
But what happens when someone uses our social norms to bypass our instincts?
